Breaking Up 582

I enjoyed painting the last garlic bulb so much that I did another one. There is always a lot of garlic in our house so it is a ready subject to paint. Free shipping.

That's Italian 581

This bulb of garlic is so excited about the gravy (pasta sauce) that I am making that it is breaking itself apart. It will probably try to jump in the pot before I get a chance to crush it!

Sunny 576

It is that time of year again. The flowers are blooming almost everywhere and I love it. Sunflowers are a happy painting subject and I just couldn't resist.

Rose Bud 570

I decided to paint this pretty little rose bud, but when I was finished, it looked so boring. So I got out my pallet knife and started adding texture to this delicate flower. I like it a lot better.

Winter Beauty

My friend and fellow artist, David Waldrop, is a great photographer. David gave me permission to use some of his photos as my painting reference material. Thank you David!

Look the Other Way 543

This is the last painting in my sunflower/wallpaper series. I do like how these paintings turned out. Wallpaper will definitely find it's way into more of my paintings.

Looking Down 542

Another one of my sunflower paintings with a pattered background. These are fun.

Shy Sunflower 541

Having fun with a wallpaper pattern and sunflowers. One of my earlier paintings was an 11"x 14" with three sunflowers.

Lit From Above

These flowers made a home on my dining room table. It wasn't until I turned on the overhead light that I saw a painting. I love the cast shadows on the table.

Wall Flowers 540

I am a big fan of fellow artist Diane Hoeptner's cat paintings. She has included some very interesting wallpaper/fabric backgrounds in several of her paintings. I decided to do a little experimenting with some sunflowers and wallpaper. I am happy with the result!

Mean Lemons

Who knew that lemons can be so aggressive! As you can see from my past three posts, the lemons have chased away all of the cherries. Now they are after the little, fragile glass vase. Time to make lemonade.

My Favorite Time

My Favorite Time at the beach is just around sunset. There is such an array of colors changing from minute to minute. I hope you enjoy this warm beach evening.

Lemonade

My neighbor gave me some lemons from her tree. Instead of squeezing them to make traditional lemonade, I decided to paint them.
