Ride to Remember

My friend, Scott Roark, decided 11 years ago to launch a bicycle ride to raise money for Alzheimer research in support of his Mother. Scott's  "Ride to Remember" covers 250 miles across South Carolina and has become so successful that he has to turn away riders! My painting depicts the Yorktown, moored in Charleston, South Carolina, the location of the end-of-ride banquet and fund raiser. Congratulations Scott!

Beautiful Evening

My husband and I recently vacationed in Bonaire. The sunsets are beautiful. You can just imagine walking to the beach with a glass of wine, siting in these chairs and enjoying the spectacular sunset.

One of the really nice things about living in Florida is the variety of flowers. There is always something blooming. This Bird of Paradise has so many colors in just one bloom.

These flowers made a home on my dining room table. It wasn't until I turned on the overhead light that I saw a painting. I love the cast shadows on the table.

There are always several types of birds hanging out at the beach. The seagulls seem to outnumber the others and are always looking for handouts.

I am a big fan of fellow artist Diane Hoeptner's cat paintings. She has included some very interesting wallpaper/fabric backgrounds in several of her paintings. I decided to do a little experimenting with some sunflowers and wallpaper. I am happy with the result!

Beach Day 535

Life is good when you can spend a sunny day at the beach. The warming gulf waters and a light breeze make walking in the surf a pleasure. One of my happy places.

My Favorite Time
